WeTeach_CS Certification Prep – Online Course
WeTeach_CS Certification Prep is a comprehensive, six-week program that prepares teachers to take and pass the Texas Education Agency’s 8-12 Computer Science Certification Test. It reviews all the main concepts covered in the three certification domains: Software Design and Development, Programming Language topics, and Technology Applications. Educators with at least some prior experience in coding or programming interested in becoming certified to teach Grades 8-12 Computer Science are eligible to attend.
Following the successful model of the WeTeach_CS face-to-face training course, TRC and The University of Texas at Austin Center for STEM Education announces a free, online version offering the same modules but at the convenience of your own desktop.
This online course offers the opportunity to increase the number of certified computer science teachers in Texas and is freely available to any educator, thus bringing CS education professional development to every school district in the state. As an extra incentive, after the exam is passed and teachers obtain the certification, a $1,000 stipend will be awarded by TRC thanks to support from 100Kin10 and TEA. Funding for the stipend is limited. Stipends are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while funding lasts. Please check your eligibility for certification prior to registration and be sure to read all application instructions prior to applying for the stipend.

WeTeach_CS 8-12 Certification Incentive Program
In addition to providing a free online certification prep course to Texas educators, WeTeach_CS adds further incentive for those seeking their 8-12 Computer Science Teacher Certification. Through the support of 100Kin10 and TEA, the CIP provides the opportunity for Texas educators to apply for a $1,000 stipend awarded by the TRC for successfully attaining their certification goal.

WeTeach_CS Certification Prep – Face-to-Face
WeTeach_CS Face-to-Face is an intensive two day course designed to provide an overview of the educator competencies required of all teachers to become certified in Grades 8-12 Computer Science. This certification is necessary to teach courses such as Computer Science I, II or III, Fundamentals of Computer Science, or AP Computer Science A. Course instructors will address several competencies in depth and link attendees to additional resources that will help to prepare them to challenge the CS certification test.
