TRC was proud to partner with TCEA to offer a two-day Computer Science Academy in Austin on July 24-25. The purpose of the Academy was to provide both new and veteran Computer Science teachers with professional learning opportunities that will result in more students being able to take Computer Science courses in high school.
The Academy featured strands for new Computer Science teachers on the first day, where they discover available textbooks, syllabi, units of study to cover, classroom management, logistics and grading, what programming language to start with, and how to stay ahead of the students. Veteran Computer Science teachers had the chance to learn about resources for mobile applications development, robotics programming and design, AP Java, how to win at UIL contests, and much more.
