Description: Kathy Hale, Jack Madding, and Ricky Davis from Region 14 will lead this institute. The TexTEAMS Algebra II Revisited institute is a professional development experience designed to revisit and update the original TexTEAMS training. It is designed, with updates to the TEKS and some additional pieces focusing primarily on new technologies to extend participants' understanding of the foundational concepts developed in the Algebra II TEKS. The institute begins by developing foundations for functions and exploring functions as a unifying theme. These concepts include foundations of functions, transformations, exponential and logarithmic functions, power functions and polynomials. Part 2 of the institute is designed as a continuation of Part 1 and includes such topics as matrices, quadratic and square root functions, rational functions, conic sections and complex numbers. Completion of this PDA will prepare the participant to lead future Algebra II Institutes with teachers in the Collaboratives.
