Eligible Attendees: Project Directors and Instructional Team Members for the Texas Regional Science Collaboratives (Limit to 40 participants)

Description: This PDA was developed under a grant from the National Science Foundation. Our guide, a NSTA Publication, Making Science Mentors: A 10 Session Guide for Middle Grades will be used and provided to each participant. The principles of this guide’s procedures and materials were field-tested with 50 mentors and new teachers in a variety of middle schools. Making Science Mentors provides you with everything you need to set up and run a comprehensive program.

Certificates of Participation: Certificates stating Continuing Professional Education hours (CPE credits) earned will be sent electronically after the participant has completed the online course evaluation. Participants should receive the certificate two to three weeks after the PDA. Any questions about certificates should be directed toward the contact person listed on this page.

Accommodations: Sleeping rooms are available at the workshop site on a first come, first serve basis at the state rate. Please contact the hotel directly, referencing the UT/TRC block to book your room: 512-385-6767.


Parking: Parking is $4 per vehicle per day, which is reimbursable under the transportation guidelines of the TRC. Save your receipts, and submit with reimbursement documentation following the event to receive full reimbursement.

Registration: The cost is $45.00 per day per participant. Checks for registration need to be written to The University of Texas-Austin. Please send to the attention of Jeff Early along with the Registration/Invoice form.

Registration/Invoice Form: The Registration/Invoice form can be found here: download the Word document. Click the registration button below to register your attendance. You will be asked your name, email, and collaborative. If you have multiple people attending, please retrieve and fill out this form for each person that will be attending. You may need to quit and restart your browser to enter multiple people.

This PDA will occur the the day after the Science Project Director's Meeting. Please be informed that members are responsible for their own transportation costs, and hotel arrangements.
