
To provide Region 16 science teachers with a support system of scientifically researched, sustained, and high intensity professional development and mentoring to assist them in the implementation of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).
405 teachers have received professional development (STM) and 1,498 teachers (CMs) have been mentored since our Collaborative was established in 1992. Two "Honoring the Teacher" Events have been conducted. Involvement in the NSF Project ESTT(1997-1999); EXXON Mini-Grants (1997-2000); Toyota USA Foundation Grants (2001-05), Shell Science Fair Grants (2005-2007). 12 Distinguished Teacher Awards at the Annual Meetings (1997-2007). In-service and pre-service teachers K-12 have been impacted due the reform and collaboration among the partnering institutions.
