Eligible Attendees

Texas teachers are eligible to participate in the CSP4HS MOOC.

A select group of Texas teachers who complete the MOOC will be eligible to attend face-to-face follow-up training in Austin on July 23-25, 2015. Approximately 20 teachers will receive scholarships covering travel and lodging for these days. Scholarship recipients will be determined based on course participation and performance as well as school demographics.

 

Description

CSP4HS provides free online instruction to educators who are interested in learning more about Computer Science Principles (CS Principles), which is a new Advanced Placement course being developed by the College Board.

The CSP4HS target audience is high school teachers interested in learning more about CS Principles. Specifically, the course assumes that participants are high school teachers who have little to no previous training in Computer Science. However, current K-12 Computer Science teachers and college faculty may also find parts of the course to be helpful toward understanding the topics covered in the CS Principles curriculum framework, as well as pedagogical suggestions for teaching the course for the first time.

 

Certificates of Participation

MOOC completers will receive a certificate from The University of Alabama as well as 45 CPE credits from The University of Texas.
