Instructional Team Members for the Texas Regional Mathematics Collaboratives. Two persons from each Collaborative may attend.

Description: |
During this session, teachers will learn journaling strategies and techniques that help ALL students organize their learning, find relevance, and assist in knowledge retention. Included are TEKS-based activities that not only address math content, but also facilitate math process skill building. The session will include technology suggestions as well as ideas for journaling towards TAKS modification. These strategies will support participants as they develop the expertise necessary to lead every student to math excellence. This PDA is presented by TRC Mathematics Collaborative Region 12.
Who Should Attend?
This Math Journaling Professional Development Academy (PDA) is for TRC Mathematics Project Directors and/or their Instructional Team Leaders. These attendees will then present to other teachers what they have learned in the PDA.
Certificates of Participation:
Certificates stating Continuing Professional Education hours (CPE credits) earned will be sent electronically after the participant has completed the online course evaluation. Participants should receive the certificate two to three weeks after the PDA. Any questions about certificates should be directed toward the contact person listed on this page.

Parking: |
Parking is $10 per vehicle per day, which is reimbursable under the transportation guidelines of the TRC. Save your receipts, and submit with reimbursement documentation following the event to receive full reimbursement.

Registration: |
Please register by August 18th. The cost is $45.00 per day per participant. For this one-day workshop, the fee would be $45.00. Payments are due before this event. Refunds will not be issued for cancellations or those not in attendance. Checks for registration need to be written to The University of Texas-Austin. Please send to the attention of Jeff Early along with the Registration/Invoice form.
