The University of Texas J. J. Pickle Research Campus, located in the new Research Office Complex (ROC0, Building 196. The ROC building houses the Institute for Geophysics, the Bureau of Economic Geology, and the Texas Advanced Computation Center. It is located in the northeast quadrant of the Pickle Research Campus. GLOBE Registration: |

Registration Cost: |
The grant covers registration costs, breakfasts and lunches and dinner on Thursday evening. Each collaborative is responsible for travel and hotel expenses.

Eligible Attendees: |
Minority or minority-serving teachers who would like to teach the new Earth Space Science capstone course. New attendees have applied and been accepted to participate.

Description: |
Earth Inside Out
This PDA will cover a variety of topics including seismology, depositional environments and rock origins, climate, and groundwater resources. In addition, an overview of and technology used as part of the two-year program will be presented. The program will include a variety of learning opportunities including inquiry-based activities, discussion forums, and guest lectures by prominent scientists in the field of Earth Sciences. This PDA will be the first of four required PDAs for the second cohort of teachers participating in the TXESS Revolution.
