Eligible Attendees:

Project Directors and Instructional Team Members for the Texas Regional Science Collaboratives. Initial registration period is limited to one person per collaborative.  Registration will open to a second attendee per collaborative on a first come/first served, space available basis beginning on January 11, 2010.

Description

The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHSC-H) will provide a three-day workshop highlighting their complete set of health science resources covering issues related to human body systems, genetics, infectious diseases, and health science related careers. Participants will receive CDs and DVDs containing videos and classroom activities that are aligned with science, math, health and career TEKS and that cover the life science objectives for grades 6-12. 

Certificates of Participation

Certificates stating 20 Continuing Professional Education hours (CPE credits) earned will be sent electronically after the participant has completed the online course evaluation. Participants should receive the certificate two to three weeks after the PDA. Any questions about certificates should be directed toward the contact person listed on this page.

Sleeping rooms are available at the Crown Plaza - Houston until January 12, 2010.   Contact the Crown Plaza Houston directly to make a reservation.  The cost of hotel accommodations will not be covered by the TRC. 

Parking

The parking costs will be paid by the TRC.  If you need parking in Houston for purposes related to the workshop, please save your receipts, and submit with reimbursement documentation following the event to receive full reimbursement.

Registration

Please register by January 10, 2010.  The cost is $45.00 per day per participant.  For this three-day workshop the fee would be $ 135.00.  Payments are due before this event.  Refunds will not be issued for cancellations or those not attending.  Checks for registration need to be written to The University of Texas-Austin. Please send to the attention of Jeff Early along with the Registration/Confirmation form or email you receive from CVent. Registration fees will include breakfasts, lunches, and all workshop materials. Participants will be responsible for any hotel accommodations and extra expenses.  Only transportation expenses such as airport parking, car rental, mileage or airfare will be reimbursed by the TRC following the training.  All receipts must accompany your reimbursement documentation.
