Eligible Attendees:

Project Directors and Instructional Team Members for the Texas Regional Mathematics Collaboratives. Two persons from each Collaborative may attend.

Description

The training will investigate middle school geometry through the lens of the Texas Curriculum Focal Points.  Materials will focus on discovering the importance of incorporating the TxRCFP  and  provide  practical experience in applying differentiated instructional strategies to geometry lessons with an emphasis on algebra in order to create quality Tier 1 lessons. The approach in this PDA is similar to the approaches in the Mathematics for TEKS Connections: Geometry for High School. NOTE: This PDA will end before 2 pm on Thursday, May 27th.

Certificates of Participation

Certificates stating 18 Continuing Professional Education hours (CPE credits) earned will be sent electronically after the participant has completed the online course evaluation. Participants should receive the certificate two to three weeks after the PDA. Any questions about certificates should be directed toward the contact person listed on this page.

Accommodations

Sleeping rooms are available at the workshop site on a first come, first serve basis at the state rate. Contact the hotel directly to make a reservation. Reservations MUST be made at least one month in advance to ensure a space at the hosting hotel. When making a reservation use the code MTC in the group code field to get the discounted rate of $85.00 per night. These are for reservations checking in on May 24th and checking out on May 27th.  You may also contact the hotel directly using this link to make overnight accommodations.


Parking

Parking fees will be covered by the Texas Regional Collaboratives at the workshop site.

Registration

The cost is $45.00 per day per participant. Registration fees cover breakfast, lunch and training materials. Payments are due before this event. Refunds will not be issued for cancellations or those not in attendance.

For this 3-day workshop, fees are $135 per person.

Registration Payment

Participants can pay by credit card or check. The registration confirmation email will contain all necessary information to provide to business offices for credit card payment records and check processing instructions.

Checks for registration need to be made out to "The University of Texas at Austin." Please send to the attention of Jeff Early along with the printed registration confirmation email.

Transportation expenses will be reimbursed. Reimbursement forms will be provided at the PDA. All participants are responsible for their own lodging reservations and payments.
