Eligible Attendees:

Project Directors and Instructional Team Members for the Texas Regional Science Collaboratives. Two persons from each Collaborative may attend.

Description

SECO (State Energy Conservation Office) will provide a three-day workshop incorporating the best of their curriculum resources to cover issues related to energy use, conservation and green alternatives. Participants will receive a curriculum binder containing labs that are aligned with the new TEKS and that cover the energy objectives in grades K-12. Each Regional Collaborative will receive enough CDs to train all of their STMs on these materials. Participants will have opportunities to win equipment for implementation of the lessons. Cash stipends will be offered to STMs who provide additional outreach on SECO materials (CMs or OPD teachers).

Certificates of Participation

Certificates stating 24 Continuing Professional Education hours (CPE credits) earned will be sent electronically after the participant has completed the online course evaluation. Participants should receive the certificate two to three weeks after the PDA. Any questions about certificates should be directed toward the contact person listed on this page.

Accommodation

Sleeping rooms are available at the Hilton Garden Inn. For this particular PDA, sleeping rooms at this hotel will be direct billed to the TRC.   If you need a sleeping room, please indicate that information on the registration page. This block of rooms will be available until November 18th. Please register before then. The cost of other hotels will not be covered by the TRC. 

Parking

There is valet parking at the Hilton Garden Inn. The parking costs will be paid by the TRC.  If you need to park some where else, please save your receipts, and submit with reimbursement documentation following the event to receive full reimbursement.

Registration

Please register by November 14, 2009.  The cost is $45.00 per day per participant.  For this three-day workshop the fee would be $ 135.00.  Payments are due before this event.  Refunds will not be issued for cancellations or those not attending.  Checks for registration need to be written to The University of Texas-Austin. Please send to the attention of Jeff Early along with the Registration/Confirmation form or email you receive from CVent. Registration fees will include breakfasts, lunches, and all workshop materials. Participants will be responsible for any hotel accommodations other than the Hilton Garden Inn and extra expenses. Only transportation expenses such as airport parking, car rental, mileage or airfare will be reimbursed by the TRC following the training.  All receipts must accompany your reimbursement documentation.
