Region 8 Collaborative/Mount Pleasant

Mission

The mission of the Region 8 Collaborative for Excellence in Mathematics Teaching is to grow teacher leaders through targeted professional development and job embedded experiences which develop teacher pedagogy and instructional best practices.

Accomplishments

The Region 8 Collaborative continues to challenge teachers to grow professionally through sustained implementation of best practices. Achievements include establishing a partnership with local colleges and universities to train pre-service teachers in both content and pedagogy, establishing a podcast portal to house Math Teacher Mentor created instructional podcasts, and developing a video based 5E Instructional Training featuring Math Teacher Mentors in action.
