UT Tyler Mathematics Collaborative
Mission
The University of Texas at Tyler Texas Regional Collaborative (UT Tyler TRC-Math) is committed to disseminating scientifically based professional development training and developing communities of mathematics educators related to content and pedagogical issues in mathematics education.
Accomplishments
The University of Texas at Tyler Texas Regional Collaborative in Mathematics (UT Tyler TRC-Math) began in 2007 with funding through the UT Austin Texas Regional Collaboratives (TRC). Over the last three years, the UT Tyler TRC-Math has provided state-of-the-art professional development training to local and regional schools and school districts, establishing us as one of the leaders in K-12 mathematics education in East Texas. Since our inception, we have improved teacher content knowledge and positively influenced pedagogical practices of teachers, which has translated into positive improvements in student achievement. Through our partnership with public and private schools and school districts, our goals focus on improving teacher content knowledge, improving teacher instructional practices, and improving student achievement.
