Mission

The Mission of the Regional Collaborative for Excellence in Science Teaching UNT is to provide the North Texas area with a cadre of teachers who can make science activities a meaningful learning experience through Hands-on, Minds-on activities for the students.

Accomplishments

One teacher who was certified in September, 2007, had received an "outstanding teacher award" in January, 2008, and attributes this success to the participation in the collaborative. We are now interacting with teachers in 27 independent school districts. A number of early career teachers are in the program and they are "hooked on hands-on" activities for their students.
